Ernest leads Ufonia’s Science team, co-ordinating research on clinical, regulatory and safety aspects of Ufonia’s Artificial Clinical Intelligence. He is an NHS ophthalmic surgeon and a computer science PhD candidate at the Institute for Safe Autonomy at the University of York (https://www.york.ac.uk/safe-autonomy/), and loves working at the intersection of technology, healthcare, and science.
He has previously completed the Value-Based Healthcare Intensive Seminar at the Harvard Business School, and is currently an NHS Clinical Entrepreneur. He leads a module on automation on the UCL Bioscience Entrepreneurship MSc, and is an accredited clinical safety officer. He is a grant reviewer for SBRI and Innovate UK, and is a peer reviewer for a number of ophthalmology and med-tech journals.
In his spare time, you can probably find him playing tennis or writing about start-up life, learning to code, or productivity on twitter or on his personal blog.
